If you’re a dog lover or owner, the Dogathon™, Malaysia’s largest canine gathering might interest you. The event organised by University Putra Malaysia’s faculty of veterinary medicine, is happening on 4 March 2018 with the theme ‘Dogs Around The World (Round and Round The World, With Dogs We Come Together)’. So, head over to Bukit Ekspo, UPM at 6.30am, to experience it.
The main event of Dogathon™ 2018 is the Dog Race. It is a 2km, breezy early morning run, for owner and dog, in the lush greenery of UPM. This race is just one of many other exciting games and activities that owners and their dogs can participate in. Participants will also walk away with lucrative prizes and there are plenty of free goodies too from sponsors. (Relevant: Here’s your guide to running with your dog).
It’s a charity event
Now in its 21st year, Dogathon™ is an annual charity drive with two missions. The first is to raise funds to aid the stray animal awareness programme, and to assist the annual PRO-KASIH programme. PRO-KASIH is a stray animal neutering project aimed at controlling the population of strays in a humane way. The second mission is to help raise awareness on animal welfare.
