    Shocking no less, unconventional fitness trends make headlines every now and then. These classes may be extreme in their themes and even cause a stir in some parts of the world. But let’s hear out the sensibilities behind these four fitness trends that are catching some serious attention across the world. 

    1. Napercise

    Created by a UK based fitness center, this 60 minute napping (yes, napping)  session includes 45 minutes of napping and 15 minutes of light stretching -with your gym attire. What is the point of this you ask? Well the David Lloyd Clubs is adamant that this class is perfect for busy parents with a horde of little ones back home or for the regular insomniacs, as the class reinvigorates the mind, improve moods, and the best part -burn a few calories.  The gyms will provide participants with everything necessary, including a bed, blanket, and even an eye mask. The room will then be set an ideal temperature for participants to get some much-needed shut eye.

     

    2. Goat Yoga

    You guessed it, goat yoga is the practice of yoga with goats. Unlike the more conventional yoga classes, goat yoga classes  are done outdoors and  follows a traditional yoga class structure with vinyasa flows, balance exercises, stretching and savasana. Participants will be getting a whole other level of zen with these baby goats wandering around, sometimes even laying on mats or walking through legs. Even so, the class was created with the intention of gifting participants with a therapeutic release, “I would come home every day and spend time with my goats, and it was so therapeutic for me,”  says Morse. “It’s hard to be sad and depressed when there’s baby goats jumping on you.”

    3. 50 shapes of grey

    With titles like ‘bend-over-better’, ‘sexy scissors’, ‘lusty lunges’ and ‘seductive squat’, these 13 ‘sexercises’ workout class was created by New York-based exercise guru, Kristen James. The class utilizes moves that promises to help people of all levels of fitness to work out all their body’s kinks, also while making it easier for participants to  act out the book’s kinky encounters, which ultimately leads to better, bolder sex -Ana and Christian style of course. While this S&M-inspired moves will truly work the core, James explains that the workout will also help participants to get leaner and stronger, thus gifting them with the self-confidence needed for your own reenactment of Christian’s ‘Redroom sessions’.

     

    4. Beer yoga

    “Beer Yoga is fun but it’s no joke,” says founder and yogi, Jhula. “We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness.” Inspired by the hit US show Burning Man, Jhula had decided to come up with a class that combines two centuries-old known therapies for the mind, body and soul. Note that they incorporate the booze directly into the class, where students are sometimes asked to attempt to balance the bottle on their heads while holding the instructor’s pose of choice.
