A health scare pushed this single mother to start eating better— and take charge of her life once and for all.
JOANN’S CHALLENGE Joann Ysip began stress-eating 1 1 years ago after her 8-month-old son, Logan, experienced his first epileptic seizure. "I was worried sick every time he had an episode," she says. At age 3, Logan was diagnosed with autism and his seizures became so severe, he required hospitalization. "Food soothed me," admits Joann. "I’d order a burger, large fries, and chicken nuggets and eat them all in one sitting." Before long, she had added 30 kilograms to her frame.
