    Dark chocolate, you can do no wrong: Already known to be high in antioxidants, it’s now a proven pick-me-up. When researchers at Northern Arizona University took brain scans of people who just eaten a few ounces of cacao-laden dark chocolate, the images showed a boost in brain activity associated with attention and focus that lasted for about 90 minutes, while those of subjects who ate white chocolate  or no chocolate indicated a decrease.

    “Thanks to natural stimulants, high-cacao chocolate activates parts of the brain link with attention while suppressing distraction” says lead study author Larry Stevens, Ph.D. Go for dark chocolate with 60 percent cacao or higher.
