    Laugh a Little

    Turns out, the old adage that laughter is the best medicine might be somewhat true after all. Laughing actually triggers the release of endorphins, which are the same hormones responsible for making you feel like you’re on Cloud 9 after a particularly great workout. “One of the many things that endorphins do is bring about a state of well-being, comfort, or even a euphoria,” says Earlexia Norwood, M.D., a family medicine physician at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. “At the same time, laughter decreases stress hormones like cortisol.” So, cue up the Netflix comedies, put your dog in a silly outfit, or hang out with your friends.
